Mt Faito map Mt Faito

In the woods of Mount Faito, so called because of the extensive beech woods, all of the paths cross the giant Latteri mountains, which reminds you of the Alps. Mount Faito is the "mountain on the sea", or rather the gulfs (Naples and Salerno). It is a real treasure of biodiversity protected by the Lattari Mountains Regional Park. Beyond the forest cover there is the priceless descent to Santa Maria del Castello, which is a little hamlet between the internationally famed Positano down below and the prosperous Vico Equense.

Flora : Bbeech tree and related vegetation, black pine, various funghi and chestnut forests.

Fauna : Birds of prey (kestrel, peregrine falcon, buzzard, raven, quail) migratory and sedentary birds, insects, butterflies, reptiles (lizards, toads, harmless snakes) and small mammals.

Info : Departure and return to Castellammare di Stabia or to other towns of the Sorrentine Peninsula linked to the Circumvesuviana Train Line. Public Transport is accessible to Vico Equense from Santa Maria del Castello by Bus - EAVBUS.
